Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as “Washington”, “the District”, or simply “D.C.”, is the capital of the United States. The District is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Congress and therefore is not a part of any U.S. state. The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia is located in the Glover Park neighborhood of northwest Washington, D.C., two St. Luke Serbian Orthodox Churches are nearby, one in Potomac (Maryland), other one in McLean (Virginia), ethnic organizations, schools, institutes, associations, clubs, lots of places to gather Serbian community from the area and around.
